Europei Ginnastica Artistica a SofiaPartito da Fiumicino alle 15.45, è atterrato domenica 11 maggio a Sofia alle 18.15 (ore 17.15 italiane) il volo Alitalia con a bordo la squadra femminile senior impegnata nei 30° Campionati Europei di Ginnastica Artistica femminile e composta da Elisa Meneghini (GAL Lissone), Vanessa Ferrari e Giorgia Campana (C.S. Esercito Italiano), Erika Fasana e Martina Rizzelli (Brixia Brescia). Con loro i tecnici Mauro Di Rienzo e Claudia Ferrè, il medico Matteo Ferretti, il fisioterapista Salvatore Scintu ed il Vicepresidente Rosario Pitton, capodelegazione della spedizione azzurra in Bulgaria.
Oltre 300 ginnaste (155 senior, 148 juniores), in rappresentanza di 37 Paesi, 73 giudici,  33 medaglie in palio. L’Italia si presenta con rinnovate ambizioni di successo, grazie a vecchi e nuovi interpreti. Le tre atlete olimpiche di Londra 2012, Erika Fasana (Brixia Brescia), Vanessa Ferrari e Giorgia Campana (C.S. Esercito Italiano), insieme a Elisa Meneghini (GAL Lissone) e all’esordiente Martina Rizzelli (Brixia Brescia) inizieranno il loro Europeo giovedì (ore 16.30 italiane) sulla pedana del Corpo Libero dell’Arena Armeec di Sofia, nella quarta ed ultima rotazione, con un duplice obiettivo: la qualificazione per la finale a 8 di sabato e, di conseguenza, per i Giochi Olimpici Europei, in programma a Baku nel 2015.  Il gruppo guidato da Enrico Casella e dai tecnici Mauro Di Rienzo e Claudia Ferrè proverà poi a staccare più pass possibili per le finali individuali di domenica. E, in quest’ottica, le attenzioni saranno tutte per la nostra Ferrari, vice campionessa del mondo al Corpo Libero. La rassegna bulgara non prevede il concorso generale senior che aveva visto Vanessa dominare nell’ultima prova in Coppa del Mondo, lo scorso aprile a Tokyo. Pertanto la stella di Orzinuovi, che agli Europei di Mosca del 2013 giunse non al meglio delle condizioni dopo una brutta caduta dalla trave nel Trofeo Città di Jesolo, proverà a togliersi qualche soddisfazione nei singoli attrezzi, a lei più congeniali.
A livello juniores l’Italbaby – composta da Iosra Abdelaziz (Ginnastica Bollate), Pilar Rubagotti (Brixia Brescia), Sofia Busato (Brixia Brescia), Chiara Imeraj (Brixia Brescia), Desiree Carofiglio (Future Gym) e guidata dagli allenatori Marco Campodonico e Laura Rizzoli – incomincia alla stessa ora e dal medesimo attrezzo delle big con il traguardo di avvicinarsi il più possibile al podio e di entrare con due ginnaste nella finale all-around di venerdì. Sarà importante, inoltre, strappare un biglietto per i Giochi Olimpici Giovanili di Nanchino con l’unica atleta che sembra avere le carte in regola, tecniche ed anagrafiche, per riuscirci, ossia la segratese Iosra Abdelaziz, classe 1999, cresciuta nell’Asa Cinisello e seguita a Bollate da Marta Cerri.
Oggi pomeriggio prova podio per le junior Iosra Abdelaziz (Ginnastica Bollate), Desiree Carofiglio (Future Gym), Pilar Rubagotti, Sofia Busato e Chiara Imeraj (Brixia Brescia) guidate dagli allenatori Marco Campodonico e Laura Rizzoli, con la supervisione di Casella.
